Karli:

I've been saying it all month long. Fear is not something you eliminate from your life. The hard edges of fear are softened through the gentle attention you give to fear, the relationship you foster between fear and courage, and the self-trust you build as you practice. Keep listening for three affirmations you can use to listen to fear with compassion and allow courage to take the lead. Hey there, my friends. It's me, Karli. I'm your favorite Gen X dealer of positive vibes, Life and Wellness Coach and community builder for women in midlife and beyond. I am thrilled that you are joining me here today for this final episode of October, and I'm gonna wrap up a month of episodes covering different facets of fear in midlife and beyond. I hope you feel a shift in your ability to notice fear, decipher its message, and tap into your courage to move toward what matters most. Even the tiniest difference is progress, my friend. Continue to practice self-compassion and remember to celebrate when you witness the beautiful glimmers of growth. Because fear is pretty much a life partner, I find it helpful to have a few tools in my back pocket that I can pull out when I notice my fear overstepping its boundaries. My number one go-to is positive affirmations. With a few weeks of consistent repetition, they sink into your subconscious mind and transform your thoughts. They may feel strange at first, but do not let that stop you, my friend. Lean into repeating them two to three times daily for three weeks, and then decide if you've noticed a shift in your mindset or not. Whether you're at the beginning of building your positive relationship with fear or find yourself farther down the road in need of a refresher, here are three affirmations you can use to listen to fear, with compassion, and allow your courage to take the lead. So let's do a run through. Repeat these after me. I greet fear with self-compassion, so courage can step in to guide me. I greet fear with self-compassion, so courage can step in to guide me. When fear shows up, my courage is there too. When fear shows up, my courage is there too. My fear is trying to protect me. My courage knows the safe way forward. My fear is trying to protect me. My courage knows the safe way forward. You can help your positive affirmations sink in by saying them out loud. There is magic- it happens- when your subconscious hears them in your own voice. That's not always possible to do throughout your day. I get that happens to me too. So here's a couple of tips for making this happen. First, whether it be in the morning or at night, find at least one time during the day where you can stand in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eye, and say your affirmations with conviction out loud to yourself. This is so incredibly powerful, my friend. And a second tip is to use the voice memo function on your phone to record yourself saying each affirmation three times in a row. And use this when you're out and about or need a boost, but you're not in a place where you want to talk out loud to yourself. This is very helpful because it's your own voice being heard in your head. Your brain is hearing you say them, even though it's on the recording. This is a really great tip for those moments where maybe you are heading into an important meeting or you just need a boost because fear has shown up out of the blue, and you want a reminder of how you are compassionate with your fear, you postpone judgment with your fears, and how that opens space for your courage to show up. And the trust that you have in yourself, that your courage will show up and will lead you in the direction you want to go. This is a pretty short episode today, my friend. I really wanted to end the month feeling positive about your fear, feeling positive about the courage that shows up when you experience fear and trusting in yourself that fear is okay. Fear is there to protect you. Fear is a guide in your life. It's illuminating things that you really care about or maybe things you need to dig into to uncover, and the trust that your courage is inside of you. It's right there whenever you want to call it forward. It is there for you. It is ready to guide you in those situations where you aren't sure you can. But it's there. And yes, my friend, you can. Before I wrap up this episode and we move into the month of November, please join my email list. My Wednesday emails come out every Wednesday and they lead into an episode of FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE, and my Sunday emails come out every other Sunday, and those lead into a guided meditation or visualization that reinforce the topic of the emails. I promise the one two punch of email episode, email, episode reinforces those learnings within you, help you illuminate some light bulbs that were not lit up before, and help you deepen your self understanding too. I'm here for you, my friend. I'd love to hear your feedback. What do you think about my episodes? What would you like me to cover in my 2026 episodes? What do you wanna know more about? What do you have questions about? Just wanna say hi? That's cool too. I'm at karli@flipsideofmidlife.com. I really appreciate you listening today and showing up next week. Take care, my friend. I'll be back in November when I talk about abundance. Ooh, it's gonna be a great month. Be well my friend. I'll be back soon.
