Hi there! I'm Karli Newman, and this is my podcast, FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®.
In my mid-40s, my positive mindset was tested. I felt life was passing me by. I was restless in my career even though I loved my job, and exhausted after years of ignoring my self-care. PLUS the hormonal shifts of perimenopause were affecting me in ways I didn't know or understand.
Externally I maintained a positive attitude. Internally I struggled with changing my life’s direction. I didn't talk about it and it took me years to work through it.
Over time I took some big leaps, including a move back to Arizona. I created a new approach to my life and maximized my innate positivity. That’s how I ended up here - helping women like you tap into your positive mindset and inner expertise to see and seize the possibilities around you. I don’t want you to do this alone!
I’m a certified coach focused on whole-life wellness. I know from personal experience what a transformational time of life this is and how challenging it feels sometimes! I’m here to help you navigate obstacles, uncover how to move forward, and continue your unique journey of personal growth and self-discovery.
I intentionally create short episodes that fit into your busy life and get you thinking about your well-being. I cover topics that the women in this community care about (that's you BTW!).

Hey there my friend. It's me, Karli. I'm back with another episode this time about courage and a meditation that will help you tap into your courage and absorb it into your being as you recognize how much courage you really have inside of you. I'm a life and wellness coach, I'm also building a community of women in midlife and beyond. I hope that you'll continue to join me here. Check out my emails, which you can sign up for in my transcript and show notes and check out what the community is all about. Why don't you get started by getting in a comfortable position? It doesn't matter if you're sitting or lying down, get comfortable. Come into now. This is the space where you let images and ideas sink into your mind, into your subconscious mind, into your heart, your soul, and when you need them, they will be able to bubble up to the surface and change how you experience courage. So do any fidgeting that you need to to be comfortable. Maybe tip your head side to side, or roll your shoulders for a moment and just take a nice big breath in with me. Hold it at the top. And then let it out through your mouth, a nice big exhale all the way, and then take a couple more big breaths in and exhales out at your own pace so that you feel completely relaxed and in the moment. If you haven't already, close your eyes or lower your gaze, if that's more comfortable. Really feel into your body. Where are you feeling any tension that you can relax? Where are you feeling any butterflies or resistance or fear. Wherever that is, take a nice big breath and on the exhale, let that energy that doesn't feel the best to you, just come right out, along with that exhale. Now start to feel the heat inside your body. There's a warming energy that's starting to flow through you. This is a positive energy. This is the energy that helps you use courage to step through your fear. And as you're feeling this warmth, this energy , what color is it? Allow that energy and that color to center in your heart. In your chest. See that colorful light start to expand out of your body into the world. Notice how good it feels, to let your light illuminate your outside world. And then imagine that light starting to surround you. It feels so good as it wraps around you, and you're now in the center of this orb of light. This orb of colorful light, grows and expands around you. This light holds your courage. Notice how you are the center of your courage, how this courage emanates from you. Notice how safe it feels, how warm it feels, how good it feels to have this light around you. And think about how this light can be recalled from inside of you whenever you want to express your courage. How might you use this light today? How might you use this light this week? How might you use this light in the months to come? Courage, my friend, doesn't have to be big. Courage can be small. Courage can be quiet. But this light emanating from you that surrounds you and feels so good can help you no matter what size of courage you need. To work through a fear, a concern, a boundary, a conversation, a change, a transition, a release of control, trusting others, and trusting yourself. Wherever you feel the need for courage, it's there inside you, my friend. Sit in that light, that feel good light of courage for another moment. Now take a big breath in, and exhale all the way. Take a few more big, slow breaths in and out on your own. Continuing to feel that courageous light around you. Now see that light as it dims, fading, coming back into you. Into that center where you keep it, where it's always waiting. And then wiggle your fingers and toes and gently blink open your eyes when you're ready. Courage is inside of you, my friend. It's there for you to tap into whenever you choose. Thank you for joining me here for this guided meditation. I hope that it sits with you and reminds you that you are filled with courage.
