Hi there! I'm Karli Newman, and this is my podcast, FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®.
In my mid-40s, my positive mindset was tested. I felt life was passing me by. I was restless in my career even though I loved my job, and exhausted after years of ignoring my self-care. PLUS the hormonal shifts of perimenopause were affecting me in ways I didn't know or understand.
Externally I maintained a positive attitude. Internally I struggled with changing my life’s direction. I didn't talk about it and it took me years to work through it.
Over time I took some big leaps, including a move back to Arizona. I created a new approach to my life and maximized my innate positivity. That’s how I ended up here - helping women like you tap into your positive mindset and inner expertise to see and seize the possibilities around you. I don’t want you to do this alone!
I’m a certified coach focused on whole-life wellness. I know from personal experience what a transformational time of life this is and how challenging it feels sometimes! I’m here to help you navigate obstacles, uncover how to move forward, and continue your unique journey of personal growth and self-discovery.
I intentionally create short episodes that fit into your busy life and get you thinking about your well-being. I cover topics that the women in this community care about (that's you BTW!).

Hi there, my friend. It's me, Karli, your favorite GenX dealer of positive vibes, and life and wellness coach for women in midlife and beyond. I'm so glad you're here with me today.
I'm guessing you've heard, 'What would you tell your past self?', or some version of that question. Today I am here to help you look at the flip side of that - 'What would your future self tell you?'
Keep listening for a short guided meditation where you connect with your future self, and bring her wisdom into the present.

Before we start, I want to tell you that this meditation corresponds to the core message of my latest MIDLIFE MUSINGS email. In this meditation, you'll connect with the future YOU. The you who has created the life she truly wants. She's confident, fulfilled, and unapologetically living your best life. She already knows the answers you're searching for right now.
At the end of our time together, I encourage you to write. Whether it's a few words or a few pages, you'll benefit by reflecting on what comes to you today. Have your journal, notebook, or favorite app close by.

Find a comfortable spot and position sitting or lying down. Close your eyes or lower your gaze and take a few big breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
As you breathe, allow your shoulders to drop and your jaw to soften.
Feel free to fidget a bit to release any tension you feel in your body.
Return to your calm, effortless breath, and start to feel the softening of time.
See yourself gently moving forward through the weeks, months, years -
until you reach a time where your future self is waiting for you.
She's waiting in a calm and beautiful place.
A place that reflects the life you've created.
Look around. What do you see?
What do you hear?
What do you feel?
Move closer to her and notice her energy.
Feel your body getting warm as it reaches you.
Without words, you know each other's thoughts.
Look into her eyes. Her wisdom is there for you.
Ask her, what would you like to tell me today?
Allow her wisdom to flow into you.
Take her hands in yours and feel the power of this unique connection.
You sense another wave of knowing.
You understand that trust in yourself and your unique gifts is the key to unlock the future you desire.
Take a deep breath with her, and as you both exhale, she squeezes your hands and nods as she sends you gently back to the present.
Hold her wisdom in your heart and mind for a few more moments.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes and flutter your eyes open.
Now, I invite you to spend a few minutes writing about your meditation experience.
