Hey there, my friend. Here we are in the middle of the year, and I encourage you to pause for a little reset. Notice where you are, how you feel about it, what's working, what isn't. Maybe you've got some momentum going, maybe you don't.

Either way, a midyear reset is an opportunity to slow down and view where you are from different angles.

My last episode was about noticing where you are. This episode helps you shift your mindset so you feel confident about where you are and where you're heading.

Welcome to FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®. I'm Karli Newman, your favorite GenX dealer of positive vibes, community builder, and Life and Wellness coach for women in midlife and beyond. Thank you so much for joining me here today.

If I don't intentionally build in space to pause, reflect, and course correct midyear, I'll just continue running. And I'll likely run past both subtle signs and big red warning signs without noticing them. A few weeks in the middle of the year, where I reflect on where I am and where I want to be, is the chance to celebrate what's going well and dig into what isn't. It keeps me from spending valuable time and effort in the wrong places.

I know you can benefit from a midyear reset, too. That's why I'm spreading this midyear reset out into bite-sized episodes you can listen to and take action on to feel really good about where you're heading in the back half of the year.

If you don't know, I lean toward the positive side of things, but that doesn't stop me from feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or stagnant in parts of my life. Here in midlife and beyond, I've learned to listen to those feelings and kindly respond. Well, most of the time anyway.

This is another reason I benefit from a midyear reset, and you will, too. It's a chance to check in and see what clues you might have missed. From there, you can take action to clear space and energy and shift your mindset. Then, you have more clarity as you move forward.

Most of us easily see what hasn't gone as we'd hoped or what isn't working when we start reflecting. So start with what is working, what feels really good, and the wins you've had up to this point.

I highly recommend an actual pat on the back, a celebration dance, or a little reward for yourself to honor your genius and success in these areas. Not only does it feel good, but it puts you in a positive place where you can more easily postpone judgment and neutrally evaluate what doesn't feel like you want it to.

A midyear reset is an opportunity to refurbish your confidence, and that doesn't come from having everything figured out or doing it the way everyone else seems to do it. It comes from trusting yourself.

Your mindset shift starts with little tweaks to your self-talk. Instead of, I should be further along, try, I've learned a lot from where I've been. Rather than, I'm stuck and I don't know what to do, try, I feel the need for change, and I am figuring this out.

Hear the self-trust in those examples?

Meet yourself where you are. Use the tools that work for you to reframe your mindset and start to see your progress, challenges, and future through confident eyes.

Stay connected to what feels true and meaningful to you, and you'll carry that confidence into the rest of the year. Intentional choices and aligned actions are how you maintain that mindset.

You, my friend, have what it takes to move forward with confidence and end the year feeling so good about it.
