Welcome to FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®. I'm Karli Newman, your favorite GenX dealer of positive vibes, community builder, and life and wellness coach for women in midlife and beyond.

I'm so grateful to have you here with me, my friend.

As we wrap up the month of May, I'm here to encourage you to keep listening and allow yourself space to pause - even for 10 minutes - to reflect on what these weeks have shown you.

Find a quiet spot where you are comfortable and can allow your mind to wander. Maybe enjoy your favorite beverage while you use the following ways to reflect on the month.

Think of the things you learned after focusing on rest this month. Did you find something new that helps you rest or discover something that doesn't? Let your thoughts flow in this quiet space. Your awareness and self-knowledge have expanded. This is a place to notice those learnings.

Another way to reflect is to scan your senses and feel into the rest you experienced. Think of the moments you felt truly rested. What were you seeing, hearing, touching, tasting, and smelling? As your mind recalls those sensory moments of rest, notice how you feel in your body. Hold onto that, my friend. Knowing that feeling can help you find it more easily going forward.

And one more way that you can reflect on the month of rest is to choose how you want to rest going forward. Be intentional about rest, my friend. Don't get to a place where you're so exhausted that it's the only option you have. Get creative. What does rest look like for you? How can you make it part of your regular routine?

The benefits of a rested body and mind include enhanced focus, faster recovery, and more even-keeled emotions. You manage stress more easily and you feel better overall. These are all things to prioritize, don't you think?
