There are so many ways to rest. In this guided meditation, I'll lead you on a journey to explore overlooked and unexpected ways to rest and feel more like your beautiful, unique self.

Let's start, shall we? Find a comfortable position sitting or lying down.

Close your eyes or lower your gaze and take a few moments to tip your head side to side.

Roll your shoulders

and take a few deep breaths.

Wiggle into position a bit more to arrive here at stillness.

Allow any thoughts of the past or future to simply float by you.

Notice how good it feels to be still, to know this is the only moment that matters right now.

Here in the stillness, a vision of a door starts to form in your mind.

Notice its size, shape, color.

Reach out for the doorknob and feel it in your hand.

Open the door and step through.

On the other side is a quiet, calm space.

What do you see here?

It feels so good to be here.

As you move through the space, you find hidden gifts of rest.

The first gift you find is creative rest.

This is a playful rest, a rule-breaking rest.

What do you see around you?

How do you feel here?

How do you feel with this gift in your hands?

As you move further into the space, you find another gift. This is emotional rest.

This is where you reconnect with your authentic, beautiful, unique self.

Nothing else is asked of you here.

What do you see around you now?

How do you feel with this gift in your hands?

You move further into the space and you find a third gift. As you open it, you discover this is sensory rest.

This is a rest where the outside world has no input.

There's no communication, no noise, no visuals.

How do you feel with this gift in your possession?

You move even further into the space and you come upon another gift. This is active rest.

This is a rest of easy movement.

It's a kinetic and restorative rest.

What do you see around you as you hold this gift?

How does it make you feel?

There's one more gift waiting for you at the end of this space.

As you open it, you find spiritual rest.

This rest is expansive.

It's connected.

You are not alone here.

What do you see around you?

How do you feel holding spiritual rest in your palm?

Immerse yourself in these gifts for the next minute.

Bring your attention to your breath, my friend.

Take a deep breath in and gently exhale.

Notice your body and mind start to return to the space you are in now.

Feel the surface beneath you.

Gently wiggle your fingers and toes.

Allow your eyes to flutter open and bring your surroundings into focus.
