Hi there! I'm Karli Newman, and this is my podcast, FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®.
In my mid-40s, my positive mindset was tested. I felt life was passing me by. I was restless in my career even though I loved my job, and exhausted after years of ignoring my self-care. PLUS the hormonal shifts of perimenopause were affecting me in ways I didn't know or understand.
Externally I maintained a positive attitude. Internally I struggled with changing my life’s direction. I didn't talk about it and it took me years to work through it.
Over time I took some big leaps, including a move back to Arizona. I created a new approach to my life and maximized my innate positivity. That’s how I ended up here - helping women like you tap into your positive mindset and inner expertise to see and seize the possibilities around you. I don’t want you to do this alone!
I’m a certified coach focused on whole-life wellness. I know from personal experience what a transformational time of life this is and how challenging it feels sometimes! I’m here to help you navigate obstacles, uncover how to move forward, and continue your unique journey of personal growth and self-discovery.
I intentionally create short episodes that fit into your busy life and get you thinking about your well-being. I cover topics that the women in this community care about (that's you BTW!).

Hi there, my friend. It's me, Karli, your favorite GenX dealer of positive vibes and life and wellness coach for women in midlife and beyond.
When was the last time you paused to get off the hamster wheel of productivity? If it's been a while, keep listening.
I'm here to guide you through a short visualization to inspire you to rest, recover, and reset.

This is your permission to stop rushing around to get more done. At the end of our time together, I encourage you to write. Whether it's a few words or a few pages, you will benefit by reflecting on what comes to you today.
Have your journal, notebook, or favorite app close by as you begin.
Find a comfortable spot and position sitting or lying down. If it feels comfortable, close your eyes or simply lower your gaze.
Let your shoulders drop, soften your jaw, and now take a slow deep breath in, then exhale fully. Again, breathe in and gently let it go.
Picture the most peaceful, relaxing space you can imagine.
It might be real, a place you've been before, or somewhere entirely imagined.
There's no right answer here. Just let yourself be guided by comfort.
Look around.
Notice what surrounds you in this restful place.
What colors do you see?
What's the light like?
Let your eyes gently scan the space.
Now tune into what you hear.
Maybe it's birdsong or the whisper of wind through the trees, waves on the shore.
Or maybe it's pure quiet.
Let the sound or the silence soothe you.
What does this peaceful place feel like? Notice the air on your skin.
The temperature of the space, the texture beneath you.
Are you nestled in a cozy chair, lying on a warm blanket, or simply floating?
Allow your body to fully arrive in this place.
Sink in. There's no effort, no tension. Just ease.
As you rest in this space, you might notice a sense of something shifting inside you.
A slow uncoiling, a loosening of whatever you've been holding.
Let that go too. You do not have to carry it here.
In this space, your body can begin to recover from tension, from fatigue, from all the pushing and rushing.
Let your muscles soften.
Allow your nervous system to settle.
Give your mind permission to be still.
Nothing here needs to be solved. There's nothing to fix.
What happens here is the quiet work of healing, and it's happening on its own.
This is your reset space. A place you can come back to anytime.
A place where nothing is required of you except to be.
Return here with a breath and your senses. Let them bring you back to this feeling.
To this place.
Take one more slow, full breath in, and as you exhale gently bring your awareness back to the here and now.
Become aware of the surface beneath you. Wiggle your fingers and toes. Gently blink open your eyes.
Welcome back, my friend. I invite you to spend a few minutes writing. If you'd like to use it, here is a prompt for you.
In as much detail as possible. Describe your space. What you see, hear, and feel while you're in it.
Come back to this visualization anytime you want a guided return to your reset space.
