FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE® with Karli Newman
Hi there! I'm Karli Newman, and this is my podcast, FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®.
In my mid-40s, my positive mindset was tested. I felt life was passing me by. I was restless in my career even though I loved my job, and exhausted after years of ignoring my self-care. PLUS the hormonal shifts of perimenopause were affecting me in ways I didn't know or understand.
Externally I maintained a positive attitude. Internally I struggled with changing my life’s direction. I didn't talk about it and it took me years to work through it.
Over time I took some big leaps, including a move back to Arizona. I created a new approach to my life and maximized my innate positivity. That’s how I ended up here - helping women like you tap into your positive mindset and inner expertise to see and seize the possibilities around you. I don’t want you to do this alone!
I’m a certified coach focused on whole-life wellness. I know from personal experience what a transformational time of life this is and how challenging it feels sometimes! I’m here to help you navigate obstacles, uncover how to move forward, and continue your unique journey of personal growth and self-discovery.
I intentionally create short episodes that fit into your busy life and get you thinking about your well-being. I cover topics that the women in this community care about (that's you BTW!).
Wherever you are in midlife and beyond, there’s space here to honor who you’ve been, love who you are, and be excited about who you are becoming.
This is the FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE® and it's a glorious place to be!
Go ahead...binge all of my episodes. xo Karli

LESS INPUT, MORE PEACE: A GUIDED VISUALIZATION
{MUSIC INTRO}
Hi there, my friend. It's me, Karli. I'm so happy you've decided to join me for this short guided visualization.
Information overload is alive and kicking, my friend. Even if you don't realize it, you are smack dab in the middle of a constant stream of sales tactics, opinions, news, and information. All of that sits on top of your personal priorities and responsibilities that also take brain power to manage. It's not surprising if your mind feels like it ran a marathon at the end of the day.
But here's some good news. You can create a bubble of peace that helps reduce the overwhelm caused by an endless stream of information.
In the email I wrote that corresponds to this episode, I share three simple tips to reduce overwhelm caused by information overload. If you didn't receive it, I'm happy to forward it to you. Email me at karli@flipsideofmidlife.com and ask me for the March 9th, 2025 email.

TIME MARKER 01:12
It's time to take a few minutes to quiet the outside noise and reconnect with your inner peace.
Grab your journal, notebook, or favorite app, set it to the side, and find a comfortable position sitting or lying down.
Now close your eyes or lower your gaze if you prefer. Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Hold it for a moment and exhale through your mouth. Repeat that breath. And feel the tension release in your shoulders and jaw.
Repeat one more time, then return to a normal breath pattern.
See yourself in one of your favorite quiet places. Maybe it's somewhere you've been, or perhaps somewhere you've created in your imagination.
Notice your surroundings. What do you see?
What can you touch?
What feelings come over you?
As you soak in the details of your quiet place, you see a transparent bubble starting to form around its perimeter. Its energy is warm, peaceful, and soothing.
This emerging bubble is your personal sanctuary. It expands gently and completely surrounds you in a quiet, safe, and light space.
Here, it is calm. Here, the noise does not exist. You feel completely at ease.
Notice how the air inside your bubble feels clean and fresh. You breathe more deeply here. Your mind is quiet. You feel your heart rate lower. And your body soften. You are at peace in this space.
Now, imagine your inner peace as a soft light inside of you. With every breath, imagine it growing in size and in brightness.
See it spreading throughout your body.
Feel its gentle energy warm you throughout.
Continue to focus on your breath, fueling the light and warmth of your inner peace.
Let the quiet surround you.
Now take one more deep breath in. And as you exhale, imagine your bubble slowly dissipating.
Notice how warm. and relaxed you feel.
Use another breath to see your quiet place fade from view and slowly bring your awareness back to the space around you. Check in to notice how you feel. Gently roll your shoulders and blink your eyes a few times to fully return to now.
If you'd like to use it, here is a writing prompt for you, my friend. Describe your bubble of peace in as much detail as you can. Then describe how you feel when you are in it.
My friend, your peace is yours to protect. You don't have to absorb everything the world throws at you. You can set boundaries, you can take pauses, and you can create your own space to just be. If this guided visualization is helpful, come back to it anytime you need a reduction in overwhelm and a boost of inner peace.
And if you're craving more tools like this, ways to reduce stress, boost your well-being, and connect with other women who get it, I'd love for you to join me inside ELEVATE.
