Hi there! I'm Karli Newman, and this is my podcast, FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®.
In my mid-40s, my positive mindset was tested. I felt life was passing me by. I was restless in my career even though I loved my job, and exhausted after years of ignoring my self-care. PLUS the hormonal shifts of perimenopause were affecting me in ways I didn't know or understand.
Externally I maintained a positive attitude. Internally I struggled with changing my life’s direction. I didn't talk about it and it took me years to work through it.
Over time I took some big leaps, including a move back to Arizona. I created a new approach to my life and maximized my innate positivity. That’s how I ended up here - helping women like you tap into your positive mindset and inner expertise to see and seize the possibilities around you. I don’t want you to do this alone!
I’m a certified coach focused on whole-life wellness. I know from personal experience what a transformational time of life this is and how challenging it feels sometimes! I’m here to help you navigate obstacles, uncover how to move forward, and continue your unique journey of personal growth and self-discovery.
I intentionally create short episodes that fit into your busy life and get you thinking about your well-being. I cover topics that the women in this community care about (that's you BTW!).

BOOST YOUR POSITIVE MONEY MINDSET: A GUIDED VISUALIZATION
For many women in midlife and beyond, money is a taboo topic. We were raised by women who had to rely on men for financial support, and their knowledge was limited. Even if she was a budgeting whiz who could stretch a dollar for a mile, she probably didn't teach you about investing, compound interest, and managing debt.
Maybe you learned it on your own, maybe you didn't.
Either way, a reminder that you are capable and worthy of building personal wealth is never a bad idea. It's not greedy, snobbish, or shameful to want more money in your accounts. Because wealth isn't about dollar signs. It's about freedom.

Hi there, my friend, and welcome. If you don't know, I'm Karli Newman, a GenX woman, life coach for women in midlife and beyond, and community builder. I'm so happy to have you here for this episode.
Coming up is a short visualization to help you shift your mindset around money. I follow it with a prompt, so have your journal, notebook, or favorite app nearby.
Let's do this.
TIME MARKER 01:13
Find a comfortable position sitting or lying down. Close your eyes or lower your gaze, whichever you prefer. Take a deep breath in through your nose. Hold it for a moment. And exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat that breath and feel your shoulders and jaw relax.
Repeat one more time. And return to a normal breath pattern.
Imagine yourself near an expanse of water. Listen to the sounds around you. The water, birds, or other wildlife.
Feel the sun on your face and the breeze in your hair. Smell the fresh air.
Notice how content you feel here.
Allow this feeling to move through you. And imagine it extending from the top of your head to the tips of your fingers and toes.
With contentment flowing through you, imagine yourself standing strong and confident alongside the water. You stand tall and you feel grounded.
The water moves in a steady rhythm and it reminds you of the easy flow of abundance in your life. Constant. Limitless. Notice how it feels to know in your soul that you are worthy and deserving of this abundance.
You look to the right and see a wide path that meanders along the water's edge. You start to walk, enjoying the sound of the path under your feet. With each step, you feel your contentment fading and notice a sense of freedom taking its place.
As this feeling grows, you appreciate the big blue sky and the fluffy white clouds. You understand the peace of mind you possess. Your freedom allows you to say yes to the experiences that bring you joy. You are grateful for the ability to choose.
You pause on the path to sit near the water, and as you do, a vibrant energy comes rushing into you. It provides you with the knowledge that you are meant to be here.
That you are perfectly placed for confidence, abundance, self-worth, and freedom to rise in you.
Take a moment to sit with this feeling. Notice where in your body you feel it. Clearly see the imagery that accompanies it.
Understand this experience aligns with your financial wellness. You have a positive money mindset inside of you. You can choose to be aware of and release limiting beliefs. You can nurture energizing thoughts and feelings around wealth. You can thoughtfully take action to create contentment and freedom.
Take a deep breath in. And exhale.
As you slowly bring your awareness back to the space around you, allow yourself to savor the feelings you embodied during this visualization. Gently blink your eyes a few times as you come back to now.

- What do you want to remember about your experience in this visualization? What is one small action you can take in the next 48 hours to reinforce your positive money mindset?
You are capable and worthy of growing personal wealth, my friend. Every action, no matter how small, moves you toward a positive money mindset and growing account balances.
