Hi there! I'm Karli Newman, and this is my podcast, FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®.
In my mid-40s, my positive mindset was tested. I felt life was passing me by. I was restless in my career even though I loved my job, and exhausted after years of ignoring my self-care. PLUS the hormonal shifts of perimenopause were affecting me in ways I didn't know or understand.
Externally I maintained a positive attitude. Internally I struggled with changing my life’s direction. I didn't talk about it and it took me years to work through it.
Over time I took some big leaps, including a move back to Arizona. I created a new approach to my life and maximized my innate positivity. That’s how I ended up here - helping women like you tap into your positive mindset and inner expertise to see and seize the possibilities around you. I don’t want you to do this alone!
I’m a certified coach focused on whole-life wellness. I know from personal experience what a transformational time of life this is and how challenging it feels sometimes! I’m here to help you navigate obstacles, uncover how to move forward, and continue your unique journey of personal growth and self-discovery.
I intentionally create short episodes that fit into your busy life and get you thinking about your well-being. I cover topics that the women in this community care about (that's you BTW!).

CLEAR THE PATH FOR POSITIVE ENERGY AND POSSIBILITIES: A GUIDED VISUALIZATION

Hi there, my friend, and welcome. I'm Karli Newman and I'm so happy to have you here for this episode of FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®.
Each of us has blocks that stand in the way of living our best life. Today's episode is all about clearing your path - removing the things that keep you from moving forward and expanding.
Whether it's a hectic schedule, fear, that mean girl in your head, or habits and thought patterns that no longer serve you, awareness of your roadblocks is the first step to alleviating them.
Coming up is a short visualization, to help you clear what's blocking your path so you can create space for positive energy and beautiful possibilities.
I follow it with a prompt, so have your journal, notebook, or favorite app nearby.
Let's begin.
TIME MARKER 00:59
Find a comfortable position, sitting or lying down. Close your eyes or lower your gaze if that's more comfortable for you.
Take a deep breath in through your nose. Hold it for a moment and exhale slowly through your mouth.
Take two more big breaths like that and allow any tension to leave your body…lower your shoulders, relax your jaw.
When that's complete, allow your breath to return to your normal breath pattern and imagine yourself standing on a beautiful path.
The sun is shining warmly on your face and you notice a gentle breeze.
Look around you. What do you see here? Take a deep breath in. Notice the scent of the fresh air. Listen intently. What do you hear around you?
You begin to walk and a dense fog forms around the path ahead. You keep walking and within seconds find yourself surrounded, unable to see your way forward or back to where you were. Pause here and try to get your bearings.
You know you're not in danger, but losing sight of where you want to go is uncomfortable. Notice this feeling. Where in your body does that discomfort sit?
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
You have the power and ability to clear this dense fog that blocks your way. Take another deep breath in. And this time when you exhale, purse your lips and blow that fog away.
Visualize the fog as it dissipates and your path becomes visible again. Start to walk forward on that path slowly.
Notice how your energy has changed now that the fog has cleared. Where do you feel this in your body?
This path represents your journey, your life, your dreams, your future. Remember how it feels in your body to lose sight of where you are. This can be a clue for you when a block shows up that you haven't noticed yet.
Know that you have what it takes to clear the path ahead of you. Remember how it feels when your energy changes when you take action to clear that path.
Take a deep breath in, and exhale.
Slowly bring your awareness back to the space around you.
Blink your eyes a few times as you come back to the here and now.

- Where in your body do you feel the discomfort of a blocked path? And how might you use the knowledge of this feeling to your benefit going forward?
Clear your path to move forward and expand. Create space for positive energy and beautiful possibilities to flow to you.
