You have a choice to deflect the stress and negative energy that so easily creeps back into your world after the holiday season.

Keep listening for three tips to help you tune out the noise and stay connected to your intention for the year ahead.

Okay, let's move on to the three tips I promised that can help you stay connected to your intention for 2025.

Tip number one, set boundaries around your energy. 

Your energy is precious, my friend. Protect it by setting boundaries with people or situations that drain you. If you're feeling overwhelmed by the demands of others, it's okay to ask for space, say no, or take a step back to think about it. Imagine creating a buffer zone around your peace.

Tip number two. Limit your exposure to what doesn't feel good. 

Negativity is contagious. People can get under your skin. Be mindful of what you're watching and listening to- social media, news, or conversations around the water cooler. Maybe it's someone who complains a lot. That goes back to tip number one, setting boundaries around your energy. If there's something around you making you feel stressed or frustrated, take a break and redirect your focus to something that you know uplifts you or feels restorative. Remember, calm is contagious, too.

Tip number three, breathe and focus on what matters. 

When it feels like the outside world is infringing on your slow and thoughtful season, honor your chosen pace. Reconnect with what matters most to you with this meditation.

Take a deep breath in…hold it for a moment... and exhale slowly.

Close your eyes or lower your gaze take another deep breath in…hold it…and exhale.

 Let your shoulders soften. Repeat that one more time.

Let your forehead and your jaw relax.

As you return to a regular breathing pattern, imagine yourself sitting in a space that makes you feel calm.

Maybe it's on a beach. Or in your favorite spot at home.

Notice what you see. Hear the sounds around you.

Now think of your intention for the year. Think of what it means to you. Why it matters to you. 

Continue these thoughts while you place a hand on your heart.

Feel your heart beating.

Notice your chest moving as you breathe.

Feel the warmth moving between your hand and your heart.

Imagine a light glowing in that warmth.

That light is there to illuminate your journey in 2025.

Feel it getting brighter. See it radiating out through your fingers.

Take a deep breath in feeling your intention's warmth and seeing its light. As you exhale, remind yourself that a slow and thoughtful approach to the new year will serve you well for the entire year.

When you're ready, place your hand back on your lap and bring your awareness to the space you're in.

Gently blink open your eyes.

Appreciate being calm and connected to your intention.

This slow and thoughtful season exists inside of you, my friend. 

Your intention is a warm, glowing light there for you when you need it.
